This past weekend, St. Francis 8th grade parents hosted the
4th Annual Chili Cook-Off to raise money for the annual 8th grade trip to Italy. Students, parents, and teachers prepared their best chili recipes to compete in such categories as: Best Showmanship, Best Teacher Made, Best Student Made, Best Vegetarian, Best Student Team, and Best Overall. The event included a jalapeno-eating contest, face painting, and music by bands “Call of Duty-Elite Force” and “The LPs.”
Each year, 8th grade students at St. Francis work tirelessly to raise money to help fund the annual trip to Italy. The trip includes visits to Venice, Florence, Rome and Assisi and is seen as a priority in the learning experience for all 8th graders, giving students a global view that will benefit their education.
